Forklift training offered through NC Back-to-Work Program at HCC
Through a $120,000 grant from the North Carolina Community College System, Halifax Community College (HCC) is providing nearly 100 students with targeted, short-term training that will lead to a variety of career-specific, nationally-recognized credentials in automotive systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, industrial maintenance, waste water plant operator, weatherization and welding. Recently, as part of the NC Back-to-Work Program, students received forklift training. Students were taught how to load and unload items, work with pallets and safely maneuver through an obstacle course. Future training opportunities include: waste water plant operator starting on March 31; weatherization starting on April 1; and, welding starting on May 20.
