HCC staff meets with Hollister Chamber of Commerce
WELDON, N.C. – Halifax Community College (HCC) staff met with Hollister Chamber of Commerce executives and guests on March 11.

Hollister Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jerry Grady said that the chamber wants to see more employment in Hollister. "We realize we have a need for a more organized educational program in the community," said Grady, who added that many people in the area do not have the resources to make the trip to HCC. During the meeting, transportation to the HCC campus was recognized as a major problem for people from Hollister.

"Where learning is going on, you have success," said Grady. "Students need to have goals. They must have something they’re working towards."

HCC staff presented information on:
  • Adult Basic Education (ABE)/GED programs
  • Career & College Promise
  • Curriculum programs
  • Workforce Development & Continuing Education programs
