District 17 presents check to HCC for Nursing Scholarship

 

Representatives with District 17 of the North Carolina Nursesí Association recently presented a check to Halifax Community College President, Dr. Ervin V. Griffin, Sr. to go towards the organizationís scholarship. Proceeds from District 17ís annual candle lighting ceremony pay for the scholarship.

 

The District 17 Nursing Scholarship #2 assists qualified second-year nursing students in earning the associate degree in nursing at HCC. Recipients must complete the first level of the nursing program at HCC, maintain a 2.5 grade point average, demonstrate commitment to complete the program, and provide a letter from a nursing faculty member attesting to the studentís positive attitude, work ethic, leadership qualities, professionalism and community involvement. The scholarship was established in 2004.
