Terrence Boone Scholarship established
Terrence Boone has established the Terrence Boone
Scholarship to support either a Halifax Community College
student majoring in graphic arts or a business student with
plans for starting his or her own business. The scholarship
will be awarded to a student who maintains a 2.3 grade point
average or above.
Applicants will need to be active in
campus organizations, dedicated and focused on future career
goals, and display leadership abilities. Preference will be
given to members of Roanoke Salem Baptist Church of
Boone explained, “This scholarship is
established on a foundation of assisting any person
determined to succeed in life and to pursue their degree.”
He chose to support the business and graphics programs
because of the potential jobs available for those graduates
in the future.
“This scholarship is for a person who is
really determined to succeed in a career. …I want to give
back to the area and to assist the college and any person
who is pursuing excellence,” said Boone.
