The Halifax Community College Child Care Center held an open house Aug. 14-15. The open house was an opportunity for parents to learn about the center's program. A five-star facility located on the campus of HCC in the 600 Building, the center serves children ages 2-5. Enrollment is available on a full-time or part-time basis. Applications are being accepted for children ages 3-5 and waitlist applications are being accepted for children two years of age.

Representatives from the Halifax County Department of Social Services and the Halifax-Warren Smart Start were available to share information regarding services offered to parents who are seeking quality child care. Weldon Police Chief Mark Macon was also on hand to talk about bike safety. He completed child print identification kits for parents who allowed their children to participate.
