NEW MALE MENTORING PROGRAM BEGINS AT HCC

 
Halifax Community College is now offering a newly formed male mentoring program called The Men of Distinction to students. Halifax Community College (HCC) is now offering a newly formed male mentoring program called The Men of Distinction to students starting this fall. The group will meet on Thursdays from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in Building 100, Room 108 on an ongoing basis.

Chairman and founder Eugene Brown said, "I saw a real need here. Young men need some type of support system. They need someone they can talk to." Activities will include school visits, campus cleanup, tutoring youth, sponsoring entertainment at HCC, attending mentoring conferences, and learning proper etiquette and interviewing skills.

Honorary Advisor is Dr. Ervin V. Griffin, Sr. Board members include James McCachren, Brian Hopkins, Shawn Stokes, Thomas Bracy, Russ Lyles, George Holley, Bryan Carter, and Montre' Freeman.
